Itinerary - `Sunset at Mallory Square` - absolute must at 7:15 pm on Friday night
Only on Key West does the entire population migrate to one end of the town while the sun goes down. The oldest of Key West traditions is to pay homage to the fabulous, ever-changing sunsets by hanging out on the pier and watching the best free show on earth. Plus, the assemblage of cat tamers, psychics, contortionists, tight-rope walkers and musicians can't be beat.

historic waterfront between Whitehead and Duval Streets
Cost: free
Itinerary - `Last Supper Mixer` at the Schooner Wharf on Friday night at 8:30pm
After the sunset festivities at Mallory Square, everone can get together for dinner where the locals dine. Great, cheap seafood on the water. Local ambience can't be beat

Itinerary - `Breakfast on the Rooster Deck` join us for a light breakfast Sat morning
Saturday and Sunday morning join us for breakfast on the Red Rooster deck (no matter where you are staying). We can swap stories of the night before (did you see what she did?) and make fun of anyone that either looks bushy-tailed or 'hungover and hating it'.

Itinerary - `Bike the Island Tour & Lunch` with Brian and Kat on Sat. morning
Join Brian and Kat on a self-guided bike tour thru the 'old town' of Key West. Bike rentals are cheap and the best way to get around the island. We'll grab lunch somewhere along the way. Don't fret...the island is flat and the pace will be pokey.

Cost: Bike rentals are about $10 a day and are well worth it.
Itinerary - `Duval Crawl` after the reception on Sat. night
Time to slam some shots, throw back some pina coladas and party on Duval Street after the reception. Help the bride and groom ease their way into matrimonial bliss and have shocking stories to tell to their grandkids.

Note: Just remember anything that happens more than 50 miles outside the radius of your hometown never happened. And we'll have the pictures to prove it.

Auduban House
19th century "wrecker" house and gardens furnished with period antiques and original Audubon engravings. Wrecking was THE career back in the day...wreckers saved drowing folks and salvaged foundering ships. Very lucrative.

Conch Republic Independence Celebration, April 19-28
Didn't know that Key West was it's own separate country? Well, it's true. During the Keys tax revolt in the 70's (big news I tell ya), the Keys successfully seceded from the Union. Yep, my family even had a bumper sticker passport to prove it.

Hmmm, so much to see and do....if ya wanna shop, eat, or drink this is the place to be. Look beyond the touristy facade (no one better step foot in the chain bars) and soak up the authentic atmosphere of booze-soaked bar stools in the finer establishments like the Bull and Whistle.

Very interesting....the cemetary mirrors the quirkiness of its inhabitants. The graves are arranged in a chaotic jumble, and many are above-ground to prevent flooding from hurricanes. Many of Key West's oldest families can be found here.
